Greater Meridian
Health Clinic,
Inc. (GMHC, Inc.) was established in 1986 and
is a JCAHO accredited, non-profit, 330-funded, Federally
Qualified Health Center. GMHC, Inc. serves the residents of
Lauderdale, Kemper, Noxubee, Winston and Oktibbeha Counties. While
there are no geographic barriers such as high mountains or unbridged
rivers, a significant barrier to care is distance. Residents
are widely dispersed through a rural, agricultural area with limited
public transportation.
Currently, GMHC, Inc. provides care to the medically-underserved
population including the uninsured, underinsured and
Medicaid/Medicare eligible. We are here to help those in need
of ambulatory primary medical care; especially the indigent,
uninsured, and underinsured populations that are currently facing
access barriers to primary medical care.
Through
education, preventive care, and routine medical/dental treatment,
GMHC plans to prepare and empower our patients for a life time of
health.
